Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday broke his silence on his resignation as Union Education Minister on July 25 after NEET paper leak protests, telling students and teachers at GM University in Sambalpur that attempts were made to mislead Gen Z during the agitation.[1][2][3][4]

"Gen Z is our children. Some people attempted to mislead them," Pradhan said at the university, adding he had no personal issues, that at least two crore children are born in India every year and 20 crore in the last 10 years with aspirations to make India 'Vishwa Guru', and that the post was not important to him. He said he had approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi and offered to resign from the Union Council of Ministers and urged the prime minister to address student concerns.[2][3]
